If you are looking for a performance bike that has that sporty look, the Suzuki GS500F is probably the best option for you. When I was thinking about buying my first sport performance bike, I wanted something that has a comfortable seat. I wanted to be seated upright and not ride the bike in a gliding position. Since this was my first performance bike, I did not want too much power. Excessive power and insanely quick acceleration can easily make it difficult to handle and maneuver the bike. Obviously enough, I was actually quite scared of lightning quick acceleration.

Suzuki GS500 is a popular entry level motorcycle manufactured b the Suzuki Motor Corporation. The bike is named GS500F since 2004 onwards. Before 2004, it was known as GS500 or GS500E. The unfaired version of the GS500 was released in the US in 1989. It was provided with an air-cooled 487 cc parallel twin engine.
The bike fits me very well. The seat is very comfortable and the bike is a great option for you if you are looking for a more upright seating position. I have always felt uncomfortable riding a motorcycle that has a low and flat seating position. Other than that, the seat is extremely ergonomic and comfortable. I have traveled more than a couple hundred miles on the bike without feeling any soreness or fatigue.
The bike is not that heavy and being so lightweight, the GS500 suits beginners very well. It is very easy to maneuver and handle at low speeds.
Another thing that just needs to be mentioned is the fuel consumption of the GS500. The bike runs on little fuel and will fit you great if you do care for the environment. Even if you love quick and sudden accelerations, you will find that the fuel consumption of the bike is still extremely lean. I get 60 miles out of each gallon of fuel - and you are wrong if you think this is the freeway riding only. I average 60 miles per gallon of gas with both urban and freeway riding! This also means that the bike is very easy to live with. No huge fueling costs involved. Just lean and efficient transportation.
Just like most performance bikes manufactured with the huge S logo, this bike has sweet and precise handling. It seems that Suzuki has always had a knack for producing great handling bikes. The suspension setting is next to flawless if you enjoy some twisty roads. Even beginners will feel confident about turning the bike into the sharp bends at higher than average speed.
For a 500 cc. bike the GS500 has swift acceleration, but then most other entry level performance bikes from other companies will beat the GS500 in a drag race. This is obviously not a problem if you are just new to sport bikes, but if you are looking for more power and insane speeds, this bike is not for you, and you will need to look elsewhere.
Value for money : I would say that the GS500 is a great entry level performance sport bike. It handles well and has oodles of comfort. For those casual bikers and newbies, this bike is definitely good enough. If you are looking for insane acceleration and top speed, you will need to look elsewhere as this bike does not offer enough pace for those who enjoy a good thrill out of every sudden and rapid acceleration.
All in all, the GS500 from Suzuki is a great option for those who are looking for their first sport bike.
