So, when Suzuki GSX-R1000 came into the market, I couldn't help buying it. It is a sport bike from Suzuki's GSX-R series of motorcycles. It made its debut in 2001 to replace the GSX-R1100. The bike is powered by a liquid-cooled 999 cc inline four-cylinder, four-stroke engine. The bike has many notable features that are easily capable of attracting a bike lover.

    Features:

    Engine

    The Suzuki GSX-R1000 2004 model had one of the best engines in its one-liter engine class. As you would figure out, the one liter engine generates tons of power, and as a result, makes the Suzuki GSX-R1000 a very fast bike. Surprisingly though, unlike other high performance bikes out there, the GSX-R1000 has plenty of low rev grunt to propel the bike in lower speeds. The strong engine also means that you will have no problems cruising at the maximum speed of 180 miles per hour given sufficient distance for acceleration.

    Ride and Handling:

    The suspension setting of Suzuki GSX-R1000 is simply excellent. The suspension sucks up all the major bumps from the road and as a result helps deliver a much smoother ride to the biker. Suzuki has also put in a lot of effort to make the GSX-R1000 a good handling bike. The controlling of the bike’s direction is quite precise. With such a powerful engine, you will no doubt need a pair of strong gripping brakes. It is only normal to expect strong stopping power and the brakes do deliver that.

    MPG:

    The fuel tank is good for storing 18 liters of fuel. The estimated fuel consumption is rated to be 39 miles per gallon, but expect the figure to be much lower for your bike. This all comes down to the style of biking you have. The biker of the GSX-R1000 will always tend to speed things up on the road. This contributes to the higher fuel consumption.

    Steering:

    Change of directions is very easy and effortless. It does seem like Suzuki has put a lot of effort to making the bike so much more responsive. It can handle the curves on most roads very well. Negotiating sharp bends and corners should not be a big problem for the advanced biker as well. Be sure to never overestimate you and your bike’s limits while cornering.

    Tires:
    The Bridgestone tires are good for general or ordinary riding. Both front and rear wheels are 17-inch. You will want to get more grip if you are into track racing. For that matter, make sure you change the stock tires.

    Comfort:

    The bike is very comfortable. It has some adequate wind protection. However, the pegs may not turn out to be suitable for all. I would say that the bike is a little biased to the taller bikers. Shorter bikers might find the seating position less than satisfactory.

    Quality and Reliability:

    Its finishing is much better than early Suzuki’s. However, care should be taken while riding the bike during winter. Be aware that the sun’s UV rays will have a negative impact on the plastic bits as well as paints.

    Value:
    Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a splendid motorcycle. It is a real bargain on the used market. Its rivals aren’t quite as capable as the GSX-R1000. Consequently, it does not take long for a sell out to take place in a showroom. For this reason, you will probably face some difficulty in searching for the bike.

    Bottom Line:
    Suzuki GSX-R1000 is for the experienced racers. In other words, it is not for the beginners. It is certain that the Suzuki GSX-R1000 is one of the best racing bikes that money can buy today.

In other words, if you're buying a bike because you want to tear up twisty canyon roads with the perfect balance of power, handling and looks, the GSXR-750 is the most fun you can have for your money. However, if you plan to do a certain amount of sport riding but also with some traveling and more than 30 miles of interstate at a time, I'd also suggest the Suzuki Bandit 1250S.

    The 750 is better suited to road riding. Power and gearing means fewer gear changes, while the riding position and handling is exactly the same. If the weather is crap or you just want a bit less power, then you use the 3-way power switch, which changes the power curve to be more like the 600.

    Braided brake hoses up front are a must have. The standard brakes are a bit poor.

You actually get to use a lot of what they offer without always being at "arrest me and impound my bike" speeds. The GSXR-750 is like a 600 with icing on the cake. But the 1000's are simply overkill for 95% of the roads we will ever ride.

    2006 Suzuki GSXR for sale, with only 4k miles on it. It is very nice color combination Black and Grey. The Used 600 gsxr for sale has very good tires, and its mostly stock, has a few small extras. The bike was purchased from an insurance company therefore carries salvage title.

    2006 Suzuki GSX-R 600 For Sale has mostly cosmetic damages and needs a few new parts. Bike was started an it works fine,there appears to be no frame,engine or transmission damage. Following parts needed to be repalced but not limited to: front upper fairing, front fairing stay bracket, right handle bar,exhaust cover scratched(see the pic) cluster(the existing one has broken glass) left side faring, strator covers scratched,rear break peg, foot peg, mirrors, front turn signals, misc. plastic scratches. Those parts mostly can be found here on Ebay, even same color plastics, this bike wil lbe an easy project for someone who knows how to put simple parts together on the bike, for a fraction of a cost this bike will be back on the road! This bike can be also a great starters bike or to use it on the racing track,this is very nice bike for racing,
